President Makes Incredible Move For The People Of Flint, Michigan….MSM DEAD SILENT…

on

It is beyond sad how the local government in Flint, Michigan betrayed the people of that area. President Donald Trump made a terrific move on behalf of Flint, Michigan — the town famous for having unclean drinking water — through his Environmental Protection Agency. Trump’s EPA has elected to forgive $20.7 million in federal drinking fund debts — a massive gift to a town that really could use it.

“Forgiving Flint’s past debt will better protect public health and reduce the costs associated with maintaining the city’s water system over time,” EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt said in a statement Tuesday, according to The Hill.

“Forgiving the city’s debt will ensure that Flint will not need to resume payments on the loan, allowing progress toward updating Flint’s water system to continue.”

Flint’s history with poor drinking water extends back for years. It can be traced to a 2014 decision to source the town’s drinking water from the Flint River. The decision led to residents being exposed to high levels of lead.

U.S. Rep. Dan Kildee, a Democrat who represents the area, has been pushing for loan forgiveness for Flint for the past two years, according to The Detroit News, saying that loan payments could be used for other water infrastructure investments.

“The state of Michigan forgiving Flint’s outstanding loans will free up money to make much-needed investments as the city recovers from the ongoing water crisis,” Kildee said in a statement.

“Ensuring Flint gets the resources it needs to recover from this man-made crisis continues to be one of my top priorities.”

The mayor of Flint, for her part, seems to agree completely, and expressed hopes that Flint could, well, be made great again.

“We appreciate the EPA’s continued assistance as we work to recover from the water crisis,” Mayor Karen Weaver said in a statement.

“We have come a long way, but there is still much more work that needs to be done. With help and support like this from federal, state as well as local entities, Flint will indeed bounce back.”

The people of Flint have had rough going for some time, and it’s great that they’re getting some much-needed relief. Hopefully, this hand-up move by Trump’s EPA will help pave the way for continually safe drinking water for these Americans.
